It won’t let me toggle spoilers for some reason so.., SPOILER WARNING AH DONT SCROLL WERE ALL GONNA DIE IF YOU SCROLL Alright I think that covers it. This is a movie without a real hero. We spend 98% of it rooting for Leonard, believing his pursuit of Teddy as his wife’s murderer and feeling the catharsis of teddy’s death at the beginning. However, it’s a stretch to say Teddy is a good guy, because he’s not. But he’s not that villain. My understanding of this film is that, Natalie knew right away that Leonard killed Jimmy. So, she manipulated him and promised him information on his own friend, in exchange she got rid of someone who was harassing her. Leonard then kills Teddy, who was telling the truth. Don’t believe his lies. The reveal of why he wrote that is so deeply heartbreaking. Leonard cannot live in a world where he killed his wife.
