Squid Game

(Commenting on season 3) Had tickets for two movies at QCinema Pride but I opted to binge this instead with my mom. It was a great idea that I don’t regret 😘 Overall — great season in terms of games and philosophy. Bleak, but ultimately a mirror of human nature. I don’t get the mixed reviews on this show’s subreddit tbh… the deaths here are all sudden, and really were uncalled for, but I thought they all had a point. They all emphasize the crude nature of the games, and the brutality of man when they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. This was such a rich season to me. Episode 1 — lowkey already forgot what happened here… we ate McDonald’s though!  Episode 2 — GIRL every scene with the shaman lady was so funny to me… and that scene where she dgaf and just abandoned her devotees? I was so taken aback! Then that scene of her peeking at the arrows she painted was just so funny to me. I like the fakery! Anyway, I knew everybody was going to die but I really didn’t expect Park Seo-Joon to die this early and that way? It was so uncalled for… I loved his character so much. I also knew the glasses-wearing guy was gonna die, but I DID NOT EXPECT HIS MOM TO BE THE ONE TO KILL HIM OFF!!!!!! Oh my god. This episode has to be one of the best I’ve ever seen in television, just a bit behind Breaking Bad’s Ozymandias. Everything built up so beautifully to this game. The fourth game is indeed the most devastating tbh… Episode 3 — I don’t remember what happened Episode 4 — Just so unserious tbh… also the men are such assholes. I felt really bad for Player 222. As someone who had a painful toe, I can’t even fathom how much pain she was in especially when you also consider that she just gave birth!!!  Episode 5 — the game made me so dizzy tbh… my fear of heights would have gotten me to trip and fall. This is the most interesting game to me, and also the most funny, because why did everyone keep using the word “democratic” to justify everything… also I found the morality of it all to be very fascinating. It’s just amazing that such a simple game was also the most complex. Episode 6 — seeing Cate Blanchett was such a big surprise to my mom and I. Thank God we made through this season without getting spoiled 😘 highkey can’t wait for where Fincher takes Squid Game!
