Hereditary
“and I can't forgive. because... because NOBODY admits anything they've done!“
it is a must to throw a thriller/horror movie in my top four because i literally watch a random horror movie once a week with my family.. way to much… and when someone asks me what’s my favorite i either say this or it.. BUT! this is one where it left me just thinking for a long time
first thing that comes in my mind is family, and how this family is so broken.. the mom, annie, does an amazing job expressing her distress and desperateness to us the viewer from losing her loved ones. she’s trying to save herself, but over and over it’s unhealthy (proof therapy is necessary) no joke toni colette carried this movie and with every scene and her monologues especially in the dinner table you feel like your there in the middle of a arguement, it’s so awkward and eerie you can’t help but just say nothing and watch it happen
this is the kind of horror i like, i personally like thrillers more but in terms of horror this is definitely categorized as one as well! i much prefer a build up over jumpscares, like i can’t describe it but from one catalyst to another you can only expect for things to get worse.. you have to watch for yourself and find out because the more i talk the more i lowkey spoil and it’s one of things you enter into the unknown
