Just a guy who watches movies when he’s supposed to be working

I see why people enjoy it but it’s not for me, mostly because I don’t speak Turkish. It has some funny bits and had some emotional bits but overall was a drag. It’s hard to resonate with the film because it’s a movie build around a culture I’m not used to. It has too much randomness too it as well, like a lot of random singing. It’s a weird yet quirky movie, I wouldn’t say I’m mad about watching it but I will say it did feel a bit like a waste of time to watch it. It’s neither good or bad just kind of forgettable. Don’t need to rewatch.

It’s worse for sure, a bit more campy and quite predictable. The pacing is a bit slower and we also know the villain way better so he’s lost a lot of his suspenseful aspects. I will give props where it is due, the you factory sequence was actually quite entertaining, I liked the way the set was built. Where the film really falls apart for me is everything else. It doesn’t have the spooky and suspenseful feel of the first one, it’s more like a murderfest film instead of a horror. I think that Alex Vincent does a great job as chucky, he’s got some voice acting talent though a bit wasted on this sequel. I may rewatch but don’t really see a need to do that for another 20 years.

I’m kind of a sucker for disaster movies but this one’s kind of the worst of the bunch. The characters are unlikable which really makes me kind of hope they don’t make it to the shelter which sounds evil and messed up but she’s a snobby bitch and he’s a filthy cheater plus their kids a whimpering baby. They are poorly written and unlikable. I did like the fact that he’s not really anything special, he’s just a guy trying to save his family, he’s not some ex navy seal spec ops badass like the majority do the films like this. The destruction scenes were meh, you can definitely see the CGI budget straining whenever there is a scene with destruction. Why the hell is king Bach in this film, so random. The writing is mediocre as well, it’s a bit clunky on the dialogue. I also need to draw huge attention to the fact that the mom found the kid, one in a billion chance, bye bye plausibly, this whole movie is a plausibility nightmare. Overall, it’s a run of the mill mediocre disaster film which I’m not going to lie, I am a sucker for so I’ll probably watch it again.

As a horror film, it really struggles. It’s a super slow build up and the payoff was mediocre at best, it’s just kind of a waste of time. The characters are boring, the dog being there kind of ruins a lot of the suspenseful parts plus found footage films are pretty difficult without the camera moving around with the people. Security cameras don’t make good found footage horror films most of the time. Comparing it to the original, it it just lower in every aspect. Having more people in the house makes it less tense, it didn’t really have the tension I wanted, it’s just worse. Don’t really need to rewatch.
