Alien

I see why this movie has such an enduring legacy, even at over 45 years old and it still looks, sounds and is amazing. It has that dark, almost a horror tone to it that just makes it feel so eerie and claustrophobic and it’s right from the start too, you always feel a little uneasy, like something feels wrong. The creatures looked phenomenal, really makes me miss practical effects even more. It looks so much better when the actors can actually interact with the creatures like the face hugger and xenomorph. The lighting is something I especially enjoyed, it’s so good. The camera work was also pretty phenomenal. My only two complaints are I wish we got to know the characters and setting a little more, like with the company and mother and how one of them is a robot but no one knew. I know they explain it in later films but still, would’ve been nice to at least get a little more information on the world Ridley scott is trying to build. The other complaint is more dumb but I didn’t particularly like it but what was the deal with all them countdowns like there are so many of them. Other than that, it’s so good, will watch again.
