Saving Private Ryan
An all time Great War film which is probably my favorite genre of film. It’s one of those movies I sit there and listen to the score as the credits roll by, I’ve always loved this film. I genuinely can’t really think of a major flaw of this movie, like there are some minor historical errors like the landing crew boat driver was supposed to be British and stuff like that but it’s super nitpicking, it’s not really a story based on someone. I also felt like sometimes the camerawork was a little too shaky, again a tiny nitpick. This was the film that had veterans leaving the theaters because it was too accurate, if that doesn’t speak volumes to the film, I don’t know what does. The D-Day scene was definitely a hard part to watch, shot so well. The characters are well fleshed out and felt real. It doesn’t hold back when it comes to gritty realism of war and emotions. It’s almost a 3 hour movie and I never felt like I was getting bored, it has such an amazing engagement level, I was always waiting for more even during the parts without action sequences. I loved it though not the easiest of watches if you’re not a big war movie fan. Will rewatch.
