The Thing

Holy shit I fucking love this movie. The perfect suspense builder mixed with phenomenal practical effects and body horror. The tension is palpable throughout the entire film especially mixed with the subtle score, it’s really a phenomenal film, one of the greatest thrillers ever put to screen. I loved the blood testing scene the most though, it’s so tense in there when we figure out who was actually the thing. One thing though that does bother me is the guys are relatively dumb like stop splitting up so much morons but it’s understandable with all the paranoia that would’ve been going around. The gore effects are top notch though, anytime the creature is revealed, it looks so realistic because it uses practical effects. Even though I know what’s going to happen on rewatch, it still makes me a bit anxious, it’s that good at building the suspense. One of the greatest films out to screen, watch it if you haven’t and rewatch it if you haven’t seen it in a while, I know I will.
