right i KNOW that this film is DREADFUL in its concept; rich bitch goldie hawn fucks over poor carpenter kurt russell by refusing to pay him for a job. she gets amnesia and he decides to kidnap her and force her into domestic labour/motherhood to even the score. aged like MILK …. HOWEVER … hear me out everything about it is gorgeous as an 80s lover, the super gaudy opulent decor of the yacht, the similarly over the top outfits they all wear, kurt russell and goldie hawn in their PRIIIIIIIME. i just love it it’s a total 80s wet dream. it also gives me asmr LMAO the first 20 minutes with shirtless kurt constructing her wardrobe and the sound of goldie’s rich bitch voice is just 🤭 so good. their chemistry together is so believable as is her relationship with her children and it’s just a pleasant watch if you forget that the premise is a bit evil plot wise it’s a consistent story that’s easy to follow and has its funny moments - i wish it lent into making fun of itself more so i would feel less bad about fucking with it so hard lol
