Will & Harper

I don’t usually like documentaries but this film was so well crafted that it really was my cup of tea. As a cis person I’ll never really be able to understand this experience so I appreciated watching Will learn and ask questions and navigate this new version of friendship. I read a lot of reviews on this piece and the only valid complaint I saw was that Harper and most trans people will not be protected by this veil of cameras, money, and celebrities but they are both fully aware of that fact and I feel this film is more about they’re friendship. I can’t stand when people wish hardship on others solely because the world is known for its unkindness. There’s no reason that Harper didn’t deserve the safety of this trip. There’s no reason that any trans person or any person ever shouldn’t be able to feel this safe and loved always.
