i can say honestly that i will never watch this again. i didn't expect it to be the most gruesome and beyond disturbing thing i have ever watched, but thats exactly what it was. even a movie like come and see is harrowing but rewatchable, but threads?? you couldn't pay me to go through that again.
some of the effects are pretty obviously fake, but their lack of realism didn't make it any less graphic for me. the melting bodies, burnt corpses, vomit, charred skin, blood, etc, and the knowledge that wow, we know what happens to people's bodies and health in the aftermath of nuclear warfare because an atomic bomb has, in fact, been dropped before!
overall it was really depressing... and i dont think i'd reccomend it to anyone who wasn't already going to watch it for all the reasons i mentioned above. still, i think it was good and an important film to have been made.
