Superman
**the first time was so nice i had to do it twice
**
i rewatched it after a couple of days and it definitely still holds up great. i knew the first time it wasn’t just my hype and love for the character that made it a good film. like, i believe and i can almost assure that if i wasn’t so nerdy about Superman, i would still have gotten out of that movie theater thinking, “wow, that was a really good superhero movie.” and it makes me incredibly happy to know there’s people out there, even my own friends, who thought Superman was “boring,” “overpowered,” “a god?” to be pleasantly surprised and astonished when they see that not only were they wrong about him, but he’s so much more than that while still being just a man. of course, a man who can do unimaginable things, but at least in my perspective (and maybe others too), when you see Superman you’re not idolizing him because of his powers. it’s not really a situation where you say, “if i had his powers, i would be like him.” it’s more of a “i want to be like him, and i can start right now.” because the real strength of Superman and this movie is the fact that we should always, always strive to try to do better. because no matter the size of the action, you’re trying to do the right thing, not only out of responsibility, but because really, in a world full of negativity, violence, and cynicism, the most rebellious thing you can do is be kind. and honestly, that still is the most punk rock thing i’ve heard in my life, and i’m so happy more people can experience Superman like i do.
