Cloverfield

Always saw this and Shin Godzilla as companion pieces. Both are extremely focused modernized giant monster movies that try to be more realistic and portray what people’s real reactions would be. Cloverfield centers around what the average everyday citizen would do  while Shin Godzilla focuses on how individuals in the government would decide what to do. They’re like two sides of the same coin.
