Avengers: Infinity War
Man.
I’ve definitely seen this film more than three times, but I just wanna say, it’s never gonna hit the same as the first watch.
That being said, this is the MCU at its best. It’s the culmination of everything up to this point, but it doesn’t feel over crowded.
Everybody gets a moment to shine, literally everybody has a part in this movie that I just recall from memory, not because I’ve seen it a lot, but because it’s so memorable. The fight on Titan is one of the most comic booky moments the MCU has done ever and it’s so good.
Everything in Wakanda is great as well, topped off by Thor’s arrival being great and Thanos actually pulling off the snap.
I will say, Thanos, upon this rewatch which may be hindered by how long it’s taken me to do, doesn’t feel as impactful as he should, but I don’t think this phase built him up as well as it should’ve. Still a great villain though and one of the best, shout out Josh Brollin.
Genuinely, this movie, like the first Avengers, feels like a cultural moment, like everybody saw this one, and I think it still sticks to this day, almost ten years later.
