The Avengers

The Phase 1 portion of this rewatch comes to a close, and man, this movie is such a moment. Like, the fact that so much shit spawned from this movie, this movie had an IMPACT on society, like this is something that people are gonna talk about years from now. However can’t say I felt the sense of accomplishment that a lot of marvel fans felt during this, purely because I, didn’t watch most of the movies leading up to this one when it came out. I saw this with my Dad on night and me and him loved it, and then it just kinda spiraled from there. I watched this shit on repeat as a kid when I got my DVD of it, it’s just such a fun ass movie. The banter is on point, everyone clowns on the MCU style of dialogue now, but man this was the start and it’s still some of the best. Cap and Tony’s dynamic is so fucking good in this, and it just keeps getting better and better. Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner is… good here, he certainly gets worse after Age Of Ultron but I can’t really blame him, that’s kinda on the writers. Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is honestly still an underrated character and I’m glad they’ve given him more time to shine. I forgot to mention Scarlett as Natasha but I mean, what’s there to say, she’s great. Thor is… fine? Idk despite Loki being the main villain I don’t really think Thor or Hemsworth does much in this at all.
