Obsession
This year has been a gift from the horror gods themselves, banger after banger after banger non stop, and Obsession is definitely one of the best out of all of them.
Obsession was one of the only horror films that made my entire cinema scream and cry out of fear, and it was all thanks to Inde Navarrette’s superb performance. Her acting, combined with the touch of Curry Barker’s style of horror delivered one of the scariest moments I have had the pleasure to witness in the big screen. I loved the small references to some horror films such as Get Out and Pearl that I am pretty sure that only Horror fans would catch on were really fun to watch.
Though I think the film suffered from one of the biggest problems that I have noticed movie’s that have released this year constantly have, which is having too many endings. Project Hail Mary, Michael, Hokum, Colony, all of these have the same issue that I hope is just a coincidence and won’t be a constant problem for future films that will be coming out this year.
