Dune: Part Two
Rating:
200/100 🏜️
Dune: Part Two is an epic powerhouse of a sci-fi film. The performances are awesome, the visuals are stunning, the score is impeccably composed, the direction is perfect, and everything is perfect. This film is definitely more of a slowburn in some sense. It is mostly build up that is feeding off the info of the first film, but it builds off that and has an intense third act. Timothée Chalamet is impeccable in the role of Paul Atreides. He really enacts the growth and development this character goes through. Austin Butler is a chilling villain that is ruthless. Dave Bautista is very underrated in this movie. He has a short temper and is stressful to watch at certain moments, but he is so good. Stellan Skarsgård is also impeccable. He is so unsettling as this large and powerful villain. Zendaya is amazing in the role of Chani. She brings so much to the character and she brings so much awe to this film. The cinematography is gorgeous. The shots are awesome with one in particular that is mostly in black and white and just so good. Overall, Dune: Part Two is a must watch. It slowly builds up to an intense third act. The visuals are beautifully shot, the acting is so fucking awesome, the score is epic, and the whole damn movie will keep you entertained and this is one of my new favorite movies. I need a rewatch to soak up and make my final decisions, but for right now, I'm in awe.
