Gummo

i can’t say that i’ve ever watched a film that simultaneously felt so familiar, yet so alien. i know these characters, i know the location, i know their joy, and i know the sadness and hopelessness that runs beneath it all, yet this is all coated in thin candy layers of absurdity and surrealism to make it edible.
