Whiplash
"I'd rather die drunk, broke at 34 and have people at a dinner table talk about me than live to be rich and sober at 90 and nobody remembered who I was."
"I'll cue you."
"And here comes mister gay pride of the Upper West Side himself. Unfortunately, this is not a Bette Midler concert, we will not be serving Cosmopolitans and Baked Alaska, so just play faster than you give fucking hand jobs, will you please?"
"HEY, FUCK OFF, JOHNNY UTAH! TURN MY PAGES, BITCH!"
A couple of remarkable dialogues from a not-so-dialogue focused film, as you might think. Whiplash shows a musician losing his humanity to go past his limit, trained by an unstoppable force of a mentor. When two unstoppable trains collide with each other, the collision is worthy of five stars. To reach your utmost potential, do not let anyone tell you - "Good job". Instead, get yourself nearly decapitated by a cymbal thrown at your head.
