Dune: Part Two
This film lived up to the hype. It literally put me on my ass with how good it was. I went to see this in theaters with my buddy Scott and as things were happening we were having so much fun. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face the whole time. I was completely locked in for the entire runtime and I think this is without a doubt one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. Denis Villeneuve needs to be studied because he hasn’t missed with a film in over 10 years and this is, so far, his magnum opus.
The technical aspects of the film are damn near perfect. The cinematography is unmatched. Hans Zimmer comes in with another perfect score. The pacing is incredible. The script is amazing. The acting by everyone but especially Chalamet and Butler was insanely good. The plot and storyline are so well done and I cannot wait to see the third installment when it comes out. I hope this film sweeps the Oscar’s because I saw very littler wrong with this film. With that being said my only minute issue is with Stilgard constantly glazing Paul. I get that it needs to be there because he advocates for him but it’s a little much at times. Everything else was perfect. I am going to see this film again in IMAX soon so I will see if it can hold up after a second watch.
