Misery
This was the first film I watched this year, it was after the midnight of New Year's Eve, which is practically 2020. I loved it the first time. I watched it for Kathy Bates and I really liked the story and the atmosphere. The reason I rewatched it is the fact that I read the book. The book was pretty different from the movie in terms of the narration and the plot. So you can either read the book first or watch the movie first, it doesn't matter. They are different experiences. I read the book after watching the movie and I didn't know how things were going to turn out exactly. Since the book was only from Paul Sheldon's point of view, it didn't have many diverse locations and the reader usually didn't know about what the other people were doing. Although the plot is different in the movie, it was co-directed by Stephen King, so it wasn't unacceptable. It was almost as enjoyable as the book. The great thing about reading the book is that you get to know all of Paul Sheldon's thought processes and fully experience the horrors of a man in that position. The characters were also, obviously, much more developed. But this isn't the film's fault, of course. This is a great film. I highly recommend it.
