Sing Sing
“We here to become human again. To put on nice clothes and dance around and enjoy the things that are not in our reality.”
It got me the first time in theaters a year ago, and I cried even harder this time. Man.
I think this is a perfect movie. It and The Apartment are my two favorite scripts of all time. It is beautifully shot. And perhaps most of all, the performances are perfect. AUTHENTICALLY human.
Completely forgot about the Colman monologue in the dress rehearsal. That alone should have won him the Oscar. My God.
Real life footage at the end — WEEPPPPPYYYYYY!!!!
Had this #9 on my favorites entering this spur-of-the-moment rewatch so I could show it to Katherine. It is up to 4, without doubt.
It means a lot to me, being that this is one of the most unapologetically vulnerable commentaries on humanity ever put to screen. Frankly, this film will be remembered for decades as one of the best ever.
