i love how all the characters are just humans with flaws and you can see each character grow by the end of the season. additionally, i saw a review here say the show gave sean and alex’s dad “redemption arcs” to which i disagree. i think in the end we got a natural conclusion to their stories. alex’s dad, while he did get sober, still continues to deny the abuse he did to alex’s mother. sometimes people just move on w their lives and never take accountability. sean, as we have seen from the early episodes where he gives up on full custody and opts for dual custody instead bcs he can’t handle taking care of a child at his current state, is self aware to an extent. alex never forgives him for the abuse he did, he just recognized patterns in himself that he saw in his mother and was aware enough to know that he can’t put his daughter through that. i dont think those are redemption arcs. i think those are just things that happen irl, and sean and alex’s dad are just 2 ways an abuser can go.
brought tears to my eyes many times. really good show. ily margaret qualley (gonna shave some stars off coz some of her acting in this show threw me off but overall she did well)
