Anora

Film #4 - *Anora
*
I find myself speechless in how to describe the brilliance that is Anora.
Baker, who’s films - IMO - have ranged from good (Red Rocket) to masterpieces (Tangerine) has raised his bar once more with this bitingly smart comedy (yes, is really is funny). Audiences are treated to a realised cinematic vision, crystal clear in intention and executed to near-perfection.
Mikey Madison, who arguably stole the show in FX’s Better Things, is a fully-fledged star here and will be coming for awards gold in the coming months I’m sure. The cast as a whole is brilliant - can’t give too many details but I demand Yura Boriskov be given his flowers for nearly stealing the entire film.
I already need to watch this film again. And again. And again.
