Alien
There is nothing new to be said about Alien that hasn’t already been discussed, but my deep appreciation for it compels me to share some of my thoughts. Alien is universally recognized as a landmark in both horror and science fiction, achieving feats that make it both a pioneer and the pinnacle of these genres. Ridley Scott is able to create an unparalleled atmosphere, that combines with the world building to add layers of profundity to the film’s horror. The loneliness, silence, and vastness of space are enhanced by the film's dark and cold color palette. One of cinema’s most iconic creature designs, coupled with the disturbing psychosexual undertones of the creature’s invasive reproductive methods, generates a profound sense of unease, echoing fears of bodily invasion and violation. All of that in addition to Ripley's character which clearly subverts traditional gender roles in a genre historically dominated by male protagonists.
To this day, the movie holds up in every single aspect. Perfect movie
