this is so lesbian oh my fucking god i didn't know it was gonna be this lesbian but i did know it's gonna be lesbian but not this lesbian happy pride everyone!

I was kinda disappointed of it but not because the movie was horrible but because i had too much expectations. I mean the director is only 20 years old, this is a great film for someone like him. I'm been familiar with the lore and watched half of it on YouTube last year but I didn't really got obsessed with it. The movie might feel confusing to some probably because it was kinda deep into the lore and some things needed to be explained beforehand. I remember when some information about the production was rumoured i was so surprised that Renate would be in it, out of all the people out there Renate was picked for a horror movie, and if I'm being honest I kinda wouldn't consider this watching in theaters if not so because of her... I just wished they played more INSIDE the backrooms, I just wished to see some of those levels because they all are soooo intriguing to me. I preferred this to be a fully found footage type of film tbh...

thethis has to be the most subtle Gaspar Noe film that i've seen so far, this is literally a family friendly film coming from him?!?? like... wow. the ending where it showed everything being left behind in their home gave me full existential crisis. why is it that when you die everything you know will be gone like you, those books, dvds, and papers all had their story to why they are there for a reason, and when you die no one will know the full story of it except you, even from a single pen, no one will know how it got to you unlike you do. the meaning of the whole split screen story of this film is that it's trying to show us how literally everyone has their own different perspective of the world at a single moment and how it's unique to everyone, and that's sooo fascinating to me. there's always something that you would only see and know, and that's somehow good to know ;)

i just rewatched it and i found me some missed details and easter eggs!! some fan theories are so accurate, one that i kept in mind is on the last scene when nikki wore sarah's dress and tattoos in which she then smacked her head with a brick like how she smacked sarah's head with a brick. what she was trying to do was cosplay and embody sarah, she thought that maybe if she becomes fully like her then bear might authentically like nikki like how he liked sarah.
