Gladiator II

For whoever said Paul Mescal wasn’t good in it, what did you watch?? It’s dumb to compare this to the first one imo. It was never gonna be better, and if you accept that before watching this one you’ll have a blast. I definitely had a fucking blast. Paul Mescal didn’t need to prove anything, but he nonetheless delivers. Same for Denzel Washington who crushed his performance.  Ridley Scott is one of the greatest filmmakers to ever do it. I never doubted him, and I never will.  While not as emotional, the action definitely makes up for it. I enjoyed the story and the motivations as the characters were well written and believable to me. Also brought a beautiful ode to Maximus which I really appreciated. I will have more clear words when I rewatch it! Strength and Honor!!!
