The Lighthouse

Like I said before, Robert Eggers is a genius. On rewatch, I still don’t have a clue what actually happened, but I loved every second of it. Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson deliver powerhouse performances, both deserved way more recognition for their work here. Jarin Blaschke’s cinematography is a masterpiece (again), perfectly capturing the claustrophobic madness of the setting. And that score? It hasn’t left my head since. What surprised me most is how well-paced it is; I went in expecting a slow burn but ended up completely engrossed the whole time. It’s bizarre, unforgettable, and everything I want from a movie.
