Rango
A movie starring Johnny Depp as the legendary protagonist, Bill Nighy as the badass villain who gets betrayed by another villain of government power, which also includes a scene in a desert wasteland where the protagonist sees crazy things.
I just explained the plot of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, yet somehow it completely works with this movie also. I guess Gore Verbinski found the style he likes and stuck with it hard.
