Interstellar
Watching this on my 18th birthday and wow Interstellar is one of the most visionary and powerful films I’ve ever seen. It’s visually staggering, emotionally haunting, and a true symphony of science, love, and time. The film reminds you that love isn’t just an emotion. It’s a force strong enough to cross space, time, and even dimensions.
Although he has less of a deep emotional relationship with his son in it, Cooper and Murph’s relationship is the emotional core of the story which hit me the hardest, especially when Cooper enters the fifth dimension. The love he has for her gives him the strength to reach out, to guide her in a way that defies everything we know about reality. The moment we realise he is her ghost — the presence she felt all along, is haunting but also incredibly beautiful. It’s a powerful reminder that love can exist beyond time, distance, and even death. I’m glad they changed and focused it on a father daughter relationship.
Every part in this film is perfect, the stunning cinematography, the emotionally moving performances, and Hans Zimmer’s incredible, immersive soundtrack. Every part of it feels intentional, alive, and deeply human. This is easily one of Christopher Nolan’s best, and Matthew McConaughey delivers one of the most emotional performances of his career.
“Don’t let me leave Murph”
MADE ME BAWL FOR HOURS.
