A Taxi Driver
One of the most gripping films I’ve seen in a while, both parts equally hilarious and devastating with Kim man soeb giving an absolute all timer performance and manages to say so much with simple facial expressions and use of his eyes without a word of dialogue, the story starts heartwarming and hilarious and develops to an incredibly heart wrenching critique of dictatorships and protests without feeling forced. The fact it’s a true story is beautiful and that final footage of Hinzpeter was fantastic, it was upsetting to find out the real Kim sa Bok died in 1984 and Hinzpeter never got to meet him again but in a way makes this film more beautiful and the final scene with sa bok even more beautiful
