Dune: Part Two
This is such a major improvement from the first movie, primarily through a cinematography lens because this actually looks how it should with an abundance of those dark orange/amber colours and the black and white section was fucking awesome too. Where Dune 1 felt as if it was primarily set up and struggled to justify its 2hr 30 minute length, Dune 2 absolutely goes against that and flows perfectly with its runtime. The only major complaint I have is that I don’t care about Paul and Chani’s romantic relationship nearly as much as the movie expects me too and the cast at times borders on being too star studded to the point where it takes you out and a smaller more personal complaint is that some of the more minor action scenes do feel very choreographed, however this isn’t an issue when it truly matters. Other than that I adore this movie and it is a massive step up from the original and the third instalment may even find a way to top this with the set up from the first to.
