Basic Instinct
The most unexpected beauty of a film coming from a violent crime sex thriller! Man was I not disappointed in this film. Michael Douglas plays a detective that gets caught and seduced by one of his suspects, eventually getting trapped into a mental struggle between him and multiple of his long-time friends/coworkers. Really goes to show just how powerful sex is on the mind, and how much it can change one’s whole perspective on someone or something. Despite the sex the film was focused on a crime mystery, and man do I love those. This one had the same thrill despite being so romantic, that a regular crime thriller would have, in fact the romance probably intensified it. I’d like to say that the last 20 minutes of the film had to be the most thrilling of then all, when the resolution gets put to the audience and their digression. The rest of the film was slow at some points, but kept you intrigued and motivated enough to not want to look away. Overall wonderful performances by all the actors, 8/10 would recommend
