Okja
Big Pig. Man was this refreshing. Okja is a nice little modern dystopian adventure film, where the main character is a teenage girl and her pig. The movie’s plot revolves around a modern corporation and their goal to make super-pigs, however when one of the farmers that raised the biggest pig got to emotionally connected, they went on an adventure to get her back before the pig became food. The movie had comedic elements but focused on the drama of global capitalism and what it’s doing to today’s animals. Directed by Bong Joon Ho it was relatively exciting and entertaining like all his films, he really does these sci-fi dystopian elements to perfection in all her movies. The acting in this film was great, Tilda Swinton played multiple global market CEO’s very well, along with Gyllenhaal who had a surprisingly funny upbeat role, and Seo-hyun who played her role to perfection. 8/10 refreshing and definitely worth a watch.
