Parasite
After many grueling months of putting this film off, I finally gave it a chance, and I was not too disappointed. The film was entertaining, it had everything a movie should have. Plot twists, action, struggle, even romance was entangled into this mess. It had everything that makes up the core of what film should be. The movie showcases a "poor" family infiltrating their way into a wealthy family's life, controlling it to a point of chaos. I'd like to praise the constant attention to hierarchy in the film, despite the "poor" family having more people and an easily ability to take over, they still respected the bounds of class, emphasizing the true character of the protagonists. Another thing I enjoyed is that there was not a single focused protagonist, but rather 2, 2 and a half, families all being pictured as essential to the plot. The film itself was exceptionally paced with a solid introduction to get us informed of the pathetic lifestyle of the protagonist family, followed by the infiltration, and the ultimate chaos this infiltration ensues. It really was great cinema. The acting was great by everyone, feel like everyone played their roles accordingly creating the best film possible. While this film did have everything a film needs, and I did think it was great, I did not LOVE it. There is just something about Korean films that stand-out too much for me to give this any higher than an 8/10. Exceptional film will watch again.
