Aftersun

“this is our last dance”  there’s so much about this movie, you wait and sit uneasily because you think something drastic is going to happen but instead it happens over time slowly, you have to pay attention otherwise you miss the small moments which is all it really is.  this movie is so special, i see myself in her and i think that’s why i avoided watching this for a while. at a young age you don’t know what your parents are going through, they try and hide it but sometimes those small moments just slip. she spends the summer with him and you can tell it’s what he needs. it being recorded just shows sophie at an older age exactly HOW much she missed. she’s young, she thinks he’s perfect and doing well. but older? she knows and can see visually just how much he was going through without words.  this movie is truly so special, unique and just heartbreaking.
