Frankenstein

Only my second movie from del toro and wow. Can’t believe this wasn’t a major theatrical release. Truly a movie made for theaters. It’s so beautiful. I did a book report on Frankenstein in middle school. I don’t rlly remember much of the book tbh. But I remember the parts of the creature wanting to be human really stuck w me and i thought that was done well on the big screen. gdt really does a great job of displaying the emotions and theme of the book onto the film. Theres a lot to unpack especially about the relationships between parents and children and creation and death. I mean u have to credit Mary Shelley as well  for writing this of course it’s so well written. I wanna say the cinematography of this was also excellent, very hard movie to look away from. And the cast was insane. I felt like every new character was just a well known great actor that worked well for the role. And the overall gothic aesthetic of this  was great.  Definitely enjoyed this and was one of my favorite movies this year
