The Revenant
Holy shit this was so good so glad I got to see this in imax truly an amazing experience. I put off watching this movie for so long just bc despite being inspired by a cool story I always saw it as Oscar bait for Leonardo DiCaprio and never piqued my interest. But wow I regret it bc I rllt enjoyed this. So interesting for a period piece to be directed in this style, it feels like after hours meets John wick. But on the new American frontier. A very badass movie. What really stood out for me was the camera movement. So masterfully done. I really have not seen such great camera movement and such a focus on camera movement for visual storytelling besides in giallo and in succession lol. It’s used perfectly here total master class. Just the opening scene alone can teach so much ab camera movement. And speaking of the opening scene. Wow. I will definitely check out more of this directors stuff
