The best Sam Raimi movies are dripping in the reminiscent goo of the Evil Dead. This movie surprised, delighted, and disgusted me in a way that I wasn’t expecting going into it. The boar sequence in particular nearly had me clapping like a baby at the screen. Amazing performances on both ends from Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien, but I did feel particularly feel that “Fuck you, Bradley” in my bones. A grisly little romp that proves maybe we should just give directors the chance to just make whatever they want and see what happens.
