Magnolia
„But it did happen”
The writing in this film is first-rate; each character has a beautiful backstory and a cohesive plot that ultimately ties everything together into a unique whole.
The soundtrack is gorgeous, and PTA's playfulness is so original that it's impossible not to fall in love. The cinematography, in classic PTA style, is, of course, stunning; Anderson plays with camera angles and movement, and the transitions between characters are so nuanced that you barely notice you're in a completely new story.
The pacing is perfect; as a viewer, you're glued to the screen, interested in each character and how their story will unfold. Combined with the beautiful cinematography, incredible soundtrack, and realistic acting, the three-hour film ends wishing it could be longer.
The emotional depth in this picture is so well-executed that it's impossible not to experience these people's lives. "Magnolia" contains some of the best quotes and small moments cinema has to offer.
Paul Thomas Anderson isn't a filmmaker, he's a genius. „Magnolia” isn’t a movie; it’s an emotional character study with a moral worth remembering for a life.
