Joker

“I hope my death makes more cents than my life.” Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved DC. I loved the heroes, but especially the villains. I grew up loving Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Penguin, and so many others. This movie gave me exactly what I wanted. Joker is a Joker origin story, something I usually don’t love. But here, it was executed beautifully. At its core, it’s a story about a man slowly giving in to madness because life has never truly given him anything else. You never fully know what’s real and what isn’t, and that uncertainty makes the movie even more fascinating. The film is visually stunning. The pacing is perfect, and so is the acting. The way Arthur’s descent is portrayed by Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely immaculate. It’s pure art. Watch this movie.
