Obsession
"I wish Nikki Freeman loved me more than anyone in the fucking world."
What the fuck. This was so freaking amazing. The pure talent working on this movie. Wow.
I went into Obsession with big expectations. It’s so highly rated and praised, and it deserves all of it.
It’s so disgusting and unnerving. Just wow. I can’t really name particular scenes because the movie manages to keep that feeling throughout. The horror is spread so well, even though I’d say it’s at its strongest during the last 45 minutes.
Knowing that Curry Barker, the director, is only 26 years old and was a comedy YouTuber before Obsession honestly baffles me. He made a movie that is so incredibly well crafted and genuinely shocking to watch. I was blown away.
Going into it, I also thought it might not be as scary as people said or maybe even overrated. But no, definitely not. I’m glad I can handle horror because this is not for everyone. Some people will find it way too disturbing.
Obsession is the best horror movie of 2026 so far. And with not much horror left to come this year, I don’t expect it to lose that title in my book.
