Evil Dead

At this point the Evil Dead franchise has the most consistently great movies out of any horror franchise point blank. The director must have been a fan since everything great about the original Evil Dead is present here. The outrageous gore, through the forest shots, the way the deadites act, the magnifying glass necklace callback and the quick to action pacing. Going into bigger detail on the process of the deadite cycle and transformations are great. Foreshadowing with the electric knife was cool and I really enjoy the way that most characters get some sort of scare to what their deadite counterpart is to invoke fear instead of just spontaneously becoming one. Even though Natalie and Olivia are kinda throwaway characters, Mia, David and especially Eric make the movie a breeze to go through. The studio really outdid themselves with the effects, everything is shown in great detail and thats what should be expected from Evil Dead. Even though I do think the original is still better, this very much is a close tie between the two. Bruce Campbell also makes a cameo so theres nothing to complain about.
