The Shining
Suprisingly one of the horror classics that actually lives up to the praise for me. Acting is great for all the characters and all the locations of the hotel are all so bright and detailed. Like the red and white bathroom in the golden ball room, the colors and white lights really pop out. For a 19 million dollar budget the camera work is phenomenal especially for the long shots of the car on the road, the outer hotel shots and the Jack and Danny chase scene in the maze. The movies pretty long and a slow burner but for some reason the pacing never gets slow and there's never really a dull moment between all the sabotage and everyone slowly going crazy. Wendys really the only sane person in the hotel, everyone else is a tweaker. Eerie atmosphere is always present when Jack or Danny show up and it helps the movie a lot. Jack being the owner the whole time was a great twist too. Worth the hype
