The Brutalist
“None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free“
-Goethe
So many things to talk about this film.
The obvious becomes too obvious, and I feel like there’s a reason for that. At the end of the day, it’s a film that needs to make money, it’s there to sell and serve a purpose. But those details—the ones meant for keen observers, the attention to detail, the prior research with experts, and the speaking from his expertise—that’s what blew my mind.
A simple but yet so powerful film.
Definitely worth the second watch. 🧱
ED: Can’t stop thinking about this film omg, Brady Corbet is showing us things we’ve seen a thousand times in ways we’ve never seen them before.
