The Shining

Yes this movie is literally perfect. I believe this is one of the best movies ever made. The characters are fully explained and thought out. The acting feels so real and whenever Jack Nicholson is on screen I can not look away. That stair scene is just my favorite thing ever and I can not stop thinking about it. Shelley Duvall puts in such a realistic portrayal of someone who is truly frightened for their life.  The camera work is like none other and really sets the tone for the film as a whole. Kubrick’s set design is one of the best especially considering how complex the hotel is with the maze, size, and location of everything. The sound as well is used so well that really helps build tension and intensity.  This movie is so iconic and unforgettable. This is also the movie that got me into the technical side of film so it will always have a special place for me.
