GoodFellas

New episode of Cineflek is out now! If you were to only see one Scorsese film, this would be it. It encapsulates so much of what makes him great from the execution to the script, to the morality superimposed over a dark world of crime. Goodfellas is not only the ultimate Scorsese film, but it's a movie that I feel like lives in my brain so much in between watches. I feel like these characters are people I know and am returning to, and I get so emotionally invested in their arcs each time I return to it, despite knowing every beat of the story. I'm not pretending to say anything original here. It's difficult to discuss a film that's been broken down, and rewatched so many times, and have a unique take on it. When people wax poetic about a film THIS MUCH, it's so easy to try to find faults in it, and go against the grain, but it's nearly impossible to find a flaw in this one. An absolute joy to revisit, it puts me in a better place every time.
