Malcolm X
This movie was incredible. I honestly don’t know how to feel other than inspired. Even though it’s hard for me to personally relate as a strong-faith white Christian to the struggles of oppression shown in the film or to the beliefs of the Nation of Islam, I can still deeply respect Malcolm X and recognize the power and influence he had.
The dialogue throughout the movie is phenomenal. The scene where Malcolm’s house and his father’s house burn in tandem really stuck with me. The final monologue with Nelson Mandela was a perfect closing scene.
This was also my first Spike Lee film, and it won’t be my last.
