Things just kept getting worse and more convoluted for the Dude and somehow his demeanor remained calm throughout the film. Some great performances from all the actors. Really loved John Goodman and Phillip’s characters. Not a single missed song in this movie, just banger after banger.

Character design, location, cinematography, color grading, casting, emotional intensity, all perfect. This is a genre defining film. It is the blueprint for what big budget crime/thriller/action films should be in every way. One of my favorite films. Debatably my favorite Villeneuve film. Super excited for Dune 3!

Very unique concept put to story very well. Quite an emotional story about taking advantage of every day as if it is your last, and really experiencing things to the fullest. Lots of big name actors! Visuals are comforting, characters are developed and story is wholesome. Liked it!

A real epic through and through. SO many settings and locations. Many of the outdoor locations were absolutely stunning. The scenes on the water were UNBELIEVABLE. The actors being out on the boats in the middle of the ocean enduring the elements in the worst ways, and wow it looked incredible on screen. Ludwig NEVER misses with a soundtrack. Yet another fabulous work, with iconic instrumentation that was authentic and time accurate. And the sound, wow. For a film that was filmed on IMAX cameras, which are notoriously extremely loud, had these quiet moments. As contrast, there were also VERY loud and intense moments throughout the film. The sound design sent shivers down my spine several times. Many film fans over the last few months have been putting doubt on this movie for its “lack of time accuracy”. 1) It is a fictional story, not based on any real events. Fiction has always been a matter of interpretation. 2) It was written in ancient Greek. Did you expect that 50+ actors were going to speak a language that doesn’t exist in modern anymore? 3) Do you REALLY think CHRISTOPHER NOLAN doesn’t know what he’s doing?! I love how the first person we see on screen is Travis Scott. And Agamemnon was SO tuff in every scene he was in. I also want to say I think the scene in Hell was probably one of the coolest natural settings in this film. The thing I didn’t like was the pacing at the beginning was very fast and I had to lock in a bit. However, Nolan wanted to condense a very long story into under 3 hours, so I feel like it was necessary.
