Sinners

This is truly one of the purest and most well developed movies I have had the privilege to watch. Every category I can imagine, this movie is truly spectacular in. The casting is perfect. The costume and set design are the perfect combination of time appropriate and modernized. The use of lighting to show the difference between the vampires and humans is very clever. There are powerful images throughout the movie and I always love and look for those. I will gladly rewatch this movie again and again.  There are very few movies that have me feel such a wide range of emotions. There are also very few movies that make me cry without even being sad, this is one of em.  I could talk for hours about Luwid Goransson’s music. I strongly believe there isn’t even a second of music in this movie that I wouldn’t seek out listening to outside of the setting of the movie. Especially all of the ones with Sammie singing.  I really hope this is just the beginning of a phenomenal career for Ryan Coogler. He has made some outstanding films so far but he really pushes the boundaries every time and I’m very excited to see his next works.
