This got me. It got me good. I’m lying down trying to figure out a reason, whether big or small, as to why this film wouldn’t be 5 stars and I just can’t. Sure it’s not a grand spectacle 3 hour masterpiece but it’s so beautiful. The writing, the acting, the score, it’s all so beautiful. The opening scene reminded me of a song called “Cannock Chase” by Labi Siffre. It wasn’t necessarily because of what was happening but rather just a feeling I got. Then the final scene comes along and I guess the music supervisor heard my thoughts. Soon my vision became blurry from tears and I’m not ashamed to admit that. What a way to close it out.
